From the Stands: Issue 4

Due to his ever-increasing popularity, Pitchside has dedicated to dedicate this month's edition of From the Stands to our beloved ex-captain John Harkes.

Harkes still thinks he's a Number 10. But when he only looks out for Number 1, he really is a 0 (zero).
Big Frank on John Harkes

Putting Harkes in as sweeper is only seen as a good idea because we can safely rule out forward and midfielder as positions that he can play. What would be next, goalie?
Soccertom on John Harkes

Yeah, Harkes seems to have taken up where Burnsie left off. The mantle of "Blooter" has passed....
Feldspar on John Harkes

If you guys think Wright pushes up too much from the sweeper postion, Harkes would make him look like one of the goalposts.
The Perfesser on John Harkes

Harkes can act as ball boy.
GdP on John Harkes

Why not put Causey in as playmaker, he can kick the ball high and far which is what Harkes' idea of a playmaker is?
GdP (again) on John Harkes

Harkes doesn't have the fitness to help Alvarez
Fernando Clavijo (in April 22nd's Boston Globe) on John Harkes

I've lost count of the number of times at a corner kick John Harkes sends the ball over everyones head and there's nobody there at the far post.
Owlsfan on John Harkes

Harkes, when not passing to mystery players, was being beaten like a drum by the kids of United.
Fred Kfoury III (as quoted by The Perfesser) on John Harkes

Would someone please wake Harkes up and let him know he's not playing in Wembley anymore!!!
BoojiBoy4 on John Harkes

Harkes is a yacker not a player.
